Background

There are four dual fuel steam boilers in a government laundry. Boiler feed water is treated by water softener and chemicals.

In order to save the cost in energy, HydroFLOW is installed to the four boilers. Due to the unavailability of steam generation record, fuel consumption is used for performance comparison in similar period to overcome the seasonal effect.

Result

After several months of operation without pre-cleaning of the tubes, the fuel consumption of the plant dramatically reduced. When the cost reduction during the period was taken into account, the net saving of fuel consumption is 18.0%.

Due to a high saving percentage in fuel consumption, it was double checked and found no significant change in the operation and ultiization of the laundry. The investment is paid back in just one month.
